Menu & Items
Set a hot or cold delivery temperature on menu items so your kitchen and drivers know how each dish has to travel.
Learn how to set delivery temperature options for menu items.
Each menu item has a Delivery temperature setting, which says how it goes out on a delivery:
Temperatures only matter on delivery orders (Delivery only and Staffed event with deliveries). On other order types nothing asks for or shows one.
Open the item and find Delivery temperature (“For delivery orders — heated, chilled, or either?”). Choose one of the four options and save. You can also set it for many items at once in Bulk edit.
The choice is made for each line, not for the whole delivery. For an item set to both, Puree never guesses: on a delivery quote you pick Heated or Chilled before you can save.

Set a default once and it saves choosing it on every quote:
A dish or content’s temperature comes from, in order: what was chosen on this quote, then the package or bundle default, then the item’s one option if it has only one. If none of those gives one and the item can go either way, it has to be chosen.
When a customer orders for delivery, an item that can go either way shows Heated and Chilled with neither ticked, so the customer chooses. A package dish with a default starts on it. A single-option item shows its one temperature, already ticked. The form won’t let a delivery order through with a choice missing, and names the dish (“Choose heated or chilled delivery for Lasagne.”). Collection orders don’t ask. See Online Order Form.
The temperature appears after the item’s name as (delivered heated) or (delivered chilled):
On the run sheets and dockets the words “(delivered heated)” are printed in bold, so a packer can’t miss them. Item stickers leave the temperature off.
Each stop on the Delivery Runsheet shows whether the driver needs the hot box, the chilly bin or both. Puree works it out from the stop’s lines, and you can set it by hand. See Driver Run Sheets.
Most items can stay on No temperature options: nothing is shown for them. Use it for food that goes out hot or cold, so your kitchen, packers and drivers know how each dish leaves.
